No matter how reputable the company is, without an efficient and competent worker or coordinator, it will not be able to succeed and stay sustainable. I met Ms Mint Ng, the Interior Designer (ID) for renovation of my resales flat in Dec 17, who has been assigned by Mr A, partner of Meter Square.
We know Mr A since end 2011, who was the then carpenter of our 4-BR BTO flat in Punggol. After 6 years, we bought a 5-BR flat in the same area and approached Mr A again on the renovation work.
The first impression of Mint was different from my previous ID, who was a petite and gentle lady. In contrast, Mint seems to be rugged and loud. There is a saying that can’t judge a book by its cover. After a few rounds of encounters with Mint, she is indeed a workaholic and responsible person. She jotted down every single detail that we discussed and acted on it instantly after the discussion. She listened diligently to our ideas, preferences and views. Having said that, it was not a one-way communication, she gave her opinions and provided turnaround solutions taking into consideration our interests.
In Feb 18, while she had to go back to her hometown for CNY, she remained contactable throughout her holiday. During the festive season, most of the works had to be put on hold and only left with two workers to carry on with the painting works. Immediately she touched down the first day after CNY holiday, she went straight to my house before reporting to work, just to make sure that everything was in order.
Given her sincerity, I fully rely on her in terms of colour scheme and materials selection. Like most of the working individuals, we are busy with our office works and did not have much time on the nitty gritty items. She kept us posted on the progress of the renovation with photos taken on site etc. With her ability and trust worthy personality, the renovation had met our targeted completion timeline!
After the hand-over and move-in to the house, there have been quite a handful of defects/problems which I felt quite upset about it. However, with Mint’s coordination, the issues have been settled one by one. Though the problems do occur even till now, Mint has, without fail, responded and attended to my feedback promptly; and arranged for the issues to be resolved within a week.
Most of us have bad experiences with the irresponsible contractors and vendors, especially the after-sales service. As a customer, I deem after-sales service is as important and it really depends on the integrity of the service provider. I am glad to have Mint as my ID and coordinator, that makes the renovation (before and after) of my house, smooth and less painful. Thank you, Mint for being a thoughtful and responsive ID that I ever met. Hope to continue receiving the excellent service from you even after the 1-year on-site warranty!
